Florida Railroad MuseumThe Florida Railroad Museum offers one of the most unique museum experiences in the world . . . it’s where you “Ride the Exhibits!”

Founded as The Florida Gulf Coast Railroad Museum with the stated goal of preserving Florida’s railroad history, over the years the Museum has acquired and restored rolling stock and equipment to operate for the public’s enjoyment.

To achieve its goal of operating equipment and recreating the sights and sounds of Florida railroading, the Museum operates on a six mile line — the first railroad line ever to be built in Manatee County!

With train rides held year-round twice a day every Saturday and Sunday rain or shine (excluding a two week break for Christmas and New Year’s), the Museum is sure to be a hit with any train-loving child. They may even get a chance to see Thomas!

Please note, special weekend events are planned throughout the year and may supercede the regular operating schedule. Please check the website or call before leaving Anna Maria Island, as the Museum is about a 50-minute drive away.
