Part of the Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT) system, the Anna Maria Island Trolley is a convenient FREE service and is a great way to tour the island.

The trolley runs on 20 minute intervals between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and then 30 minute intervals until 10:30 p.m. For the biking enthusiast, you can load your bike on convenient racks provided at the front of the trolley.

Beginning on the north end of the island at the Anna Maria City Pier, the trolley heads south along Gulf Drive ending at Coquina Beach in the city of Bradenton Beach. Along the route there are 14 stops, each two to four blocks apart, including the three main stops: Anna Maria City Pier, Manatee Public Beach and Coquina Beach where the trolley will wait approximately three minutes before continuing its route. Most stops have a covered waiting area and all are designated with an MCAT green sign (see photo).

If you are interested in going off the island, the trolley partners with Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) and for just $.75 you can catch the Longboat Key Trolley from Coquina Beach to St. Armand’s Circle and downtown Sarasota. SCAT daily service runs between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. with pickup every 30 minutes.
