Founded in 1958, the Anna Maria Island Sail & Power Squadron (AMISPS) is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects and through on-the-water recreational activities.

Its members are a part of a boating family comprised of some 60,000 members and 450 squadrons of the United States Power Squadrons® (USPS®), America’s largest non-profit boating organization. As part of its effort to promote safe boating, the AMISPS provides a number of courses and workshops open to the public as education is the primary goal.
