Van Wezel Performing Arts HallLocated directly on the Sarasota Bay, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall presents a broad spectrum of the world’s finest performing artists, meeting the diverse needs of all of Southwest Florida’s residents and visitors.

Providing entertainment for more than 42 years, the Hall has a long tradition of presenting spectacular Broadway musicals, top national and international performers, world-class symphony orchestras and a compelling mix of classical, modern and ethnic dance.

In addition, the art collection of the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota is on permanent exhibit at the Hall and contains works dating from the 1930s to present day.

Guided tours offer the opportunity to walk through the gallery of paintings and sculptures of Florida’s most renowned artists andgo behind the scenes of the Hall for a look at the workings backstage. View the myriad of ropes, pulleys and flys for creating scenery and special effects, the movable orchestra pit, dressing rooms, hydraulic lifts, practice halls and the Green Room where performers relax between shows.

Tours are offered to the public the first Tuesday of the month, October through May. Tours begin at 10:00 a.m. and cost $5 per person.
