Patriotic Pancakes at Anna Maria Island Beach Café, 400 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach
This day will be spent with fun and adventures, but first, breakfast! You’re going to need all the energy you can muster and the pancakes at Anna Maria Island Beach Café will give you a sweet start to the holiday. Offering an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, add strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream to enjoy a red, white, and blue treat that will make the holiday shine bright, but if pancakes aren’t your thing, their menu is filled with breakfast classics that will become your new obsession.
Anna Maria Island Privateers 4th of July Parade, 10 AM, Coquina Beach
Everyone loves a parade, and the AMI Privateers 4th of July Parade has become a local tradition, starting at 10 AM at Coquina Beach and ending at noon at the City Pier on Anna Maria. Offering a pirate theme to our all-American holiday, there will be floats shooting water cannons into the crowd, helping to keep bystanders cool and enthused, plus beads, marching bands, and more.
Anna Maria Picnic Celebration, City Pier Park, At Parade’s End
A picnic is one of the unwritten freedoms our forefathers fought for, (at least that’s what we think!) and at the end of our 4th of July parade, the Anna Maria picnic celebration is something we look forward to all year. Offering food, fun, and entertainment that will be loved by the entire family, this cool experience adds an extra luster to your holiday celebration.
Nathan Allen Music at the Ugly Grouper, 5704 Marina Drive
The cool jazz stylings of Nathan Allen will make your 4th of July celebration the hottest in town, so if fireworks aren’t your thing, head on over to the Ugly Grouper for good food, cool drinks, and catchy tunes. If you are down for fireworks, however, live entertainment and that big metal grouper statue is what the Ugly Grouper is known for, so be sure to add it to your itinerary for at least one night during your stay.
Let the Fireworks Begin!
Of course, it’s the fireworks that are the star of this holiday’s celebration and there will be more than a few chances to check out the best shows in town and we have listed some of our favorites below.
• Fireworks at the Lake, Nathan Benderson Park, July 3, in Sarasota – What’s better than one fireworks show on the 4th of July? Being able to get a head start on the celebration and watching two fireworks shows, starting with Fireworks at the Lake in Nathan Benderson Park! Held on July 3rd, this celebration offers food, drinks, entertainment, and a 30-minute fireworks display that will have you oohing and ahhing, this celebration proves there is no such thing as too much of a good thing.
• Siesta Key Community Fireworks, Siesta Beach, July 3 on Siesta Key – Although this is a free show that celebrates the country with a fireworks extravaganza, this year they are offering something called the Heroes Package. For $100 per family of four, military personnel, first responders, medical staff, and teachers will receive reserved parking, food, beverages, and seating in the exclusive VIP area.
• July 4th Bayfront Fireworks Spectacular, Bayfront Park in Sarasota – Organized by the Suncoast Charities for Children, this fireworks show has been the toast of the town for over 10 years and promises to be the highlight of your Independence Day celebration.
